Pottery at the Shetland ebb tide

You never know what you are going to find on the beach, the tide brings forth both sea glass and peices of pottery

Some of this potterey will have been in the sea for 20-50 years and will have taken on a nice shape, hopefully still with a pattern, as these have. Most are small but sometimes you get larger pieces which are newer  and less rounded or smooth edges. Like most people in time gone by, when pottery got broken the sea became a large dumping ground and now we are reclaiming these broken bits
