Collecting Sea Glass is very therapeutic, an hour or two hocking (To dig) can do you the world of good
Coming across a piece of glass, no matter what size is like finding treasure. People guard their beaches, not walking up and down with a shot gun but hardly ever declare what beaches they visit. Many pieces will have spent anything for 20-100+ years in the sea and they really stand out when you find them
Most people will want to keep the unique frosted look but if you prefer a smoother glass then just rub baby oil on it and it will totally change the appearance
The glass above although showing frosting and some rounded edges still has sharp looking edges, this may have only been in the sea for 10 years or so.
If only they could tell you the story of how they ended up in the sea !. What i like about them is that they are very tactile and they are old.
I am now selling gifts at www.shetlandebbtidegifts.co.uk seaglass and pottery necklaces and canvas prints
